story

Eat on Monday started as a pop up lunch spot in Downtown Mtn. View, at Cafe Yulong a Chinese Restaurant. They were just serving lunches of menus that Carol and Robert thought were deserving of people experiencing and enjoying. Menus changed often as they were experimenting with new items, it was simple food from a collection of experiences, made with a little twist of their own.

The team that started EoM was three people (Carol, Robert and Ronald) that loved to eat and cook! The project was always setup to use as many local vendors as possible. they were all affected by the down turn in the economy in 2008, and wanted to find and support a path of their own through life.

Ronald with his culinary experience was with EoM for a short period, finding "real work" after 2 months, he'd given them the initial courage to blindly jump into the food business. Carol's background is in Industrial Design and Robert's background was in Architecture. Being from an unrelated fields, people frequently asked "what the hell are you thinking?!". Even though they are from unrelated fields, they still gotta eat! That is their strength, they know how to eat well and being naive of the food business in general. In a lot of ways they aren't limited to what they know or don't know, instead they are constantly learning and discovering "new" things. Together they kept the passion for the project, growing and expanding it into a sustainable "everyday" business by moving it into a food truck and their catering kitchen.

They are humbled everyday by the food, the business, the great people they've encountered during the process, and last but not least, the great people they get to work with on a daily basis. Since starting EAT on MONDAY, it has grown from a pop up cafe to a catering and food truck business serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Yes, on a "daily" basis.
